Important Announcement: Studio Tour & Central Island Arts Guide Website Postponed to November 2025

In response to community feedback and an exciting addition to our team, we’re postponing this year’s Studio Tour from June to November 2025.

We’re thrilled to welcome Scott Bertram, a local artist and previous tour participant, as the new Arts Project Manager for the Central Island Arts Guide Website and Studio Tour. Postponing the tour allows Scott the time he needs to get up to speed and bring his valuable experience and community knowledge to make the 2025 tour the best one yet!

As part of this shift, the Central Island Arts Guide Website will undergo its full annual update to align with the new Studio Tour date in November.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we transition to a Fall Studio Tour. We’re excited to see our amazing Studio Tour community in November!

Help Us Choose the Best November Weekend for the Studio Tour

We want this date change to best support our community. Please fill out this form to vote on which November weekend works best for you to participate in the tour.

…………………

Already Registered for the 2025 Central Island Arts Guide Website and Studio Tour?

Thank you so much for your support if you’ve already registered for the website and tour! We understand that registering and planning for the tour and website takes both time and resources.

Since things may change with your studio or practice between now and November, we will be refunding your registration fee. Everyone will need to register again for the November 2025 website and tour when registration reopens this summer. Registration support will again be available throughout the registration period.

Silvina Lanusse Art

Silvina Lanusse is a mixed media creative originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina now living in Parksville. Her work is inspired by animals and nature around her. Her painting begins the moment the first drop of colour falls on her substrate. It starts with a swirl, then another. Layers of pure colour dance in rhythm with textures. Her painting varies from colourful abstracts to whimsical stories. Organic strokes held together in a symphony of radiant paint bursting like her life tango.

VAL NELSON STUDIO

Throughout my childhood and into my mid-twenties, I was a ballet dancer. That intense training of spatial awareness and interpretive questioning is still deeply stamped in my DNA. A painting to me is a kind of choreography; there’s a haptic dance that takes place from my optical experience of an image, through to the way my nervous system signals to my body how to translate and record it. As painter/dancer I tease out meaning through working and reworking, coming up to speed as I gain understanding, and making the last strikes with absolute commitment.
