Roz MacLean is, among other things, a children’s book author and illustrator based in the Comox Valley. Her published books include ‘More Than Words: So Many Ways to Say What We Mean’ and ‘Together, a Forest’ (Henry Holt / Macmillan 2023 and 2025). She draws and paints in traditional media like pencil crayon, gouache, inks and watercolour crayon and creates final illustrations working digitally as well.
She is fascinated and awed by the natural world, and interested in its meeting place with human nature. Her work also explores themes around disability, inclusion and belonging, and advocacy for human rights through art.
