Rob was born and raised in Calgary. The prairies and nearby mountains were a constant source of inspiration with family activities revolving around the outdoors.
The love of art and drawing started as a child with cartooning. Cartooning progressed to sketching nature in the great outdoors. Painting became a form of meditation post childhood. Rob?s artistic work was on hiatus with the demands of career and raising a family.
Rob continued to paint and sketch as time permitted. He is primarily self-taught artist who has studied the techniques of the modern masters. Art has always been a passion with the feeling that ?somethings missing? when he was away from his art.
He now lives near Union Bay on beautiful Vancouver Island where inspiration abounds. Rob works primarily with acrylics on board.
An advocate for the environment, he believes we must all be the voice and defender of nature for future generations. A portion of every art sale goes to charities that protect the environment.
