Angela Termarsch is a Vancouver Island artist, working in mixed (recycled) media. She utilizes multiple techniques to create unique, funky, whimsical sculptures for indoors or out by using “Paverpol” (a non-toxic liquid medium, which cures to a weatherproof finish). Angela carries accreditation from Paverpol International as both an Instructor (2013) and a Master (2014).
From thrift store finds, she collects unique artifacts to use as the bases for her sculptures. Then starting with foil and wire (or steel rod), she creates a basic form. Recycled cotton t-shirts are then cut and dipped in Paverpol, wrapping the form and “mummifying” it. The same process is then used to ?dress” her signature pieces with recycled natural fibers; lace (tablecloths, doilies), cotton, hemp, silk, and wool. Once completed, sculptures cure for three weeks before being dry-brushed with varnish and pigment.
